CNC Plasma Table Operator

MMLJ, Inc. has an opening for a self-motivated, organized individual seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Production Manager, and will be solely responsible for running and programming all 3 CNC Plasma tables. Providing meticulous attention to detail is key, and a clear understanding this position is vital to the entire manufacturing process.


Responsibilities/Job Duties:

  • The CNC Plasma Table Operator will set up and operate up to 3 CNC Plasma cutting tables simultaneously.In some cases, this person will be required to weld both steel and aluminum.

  • Performs a variety of duties including grinding, deburring, cleaning of parts, cutting and removal scrap.

  • Select correct cutting tips or other attachments. Install and align them.

  • Set correct controls of speed, feed rate, depth, and angle, or pressure and temperature.

  • Measure finished workpieces to determine if they are the right size and inspect for defects.

  • Select proper materials per cut programs or instructions.

  • Troubleshoot the machine with the assistance of on the phone technical support or production management.

  • Determine the proper method of adjusting the machine to make the best cut.

  • Uses forklifts and overhead crane to move materials and parts as needed.

  • Accurately complete all paperwork associated with material movements and inventory management.

  • Keep work area and machinery safe, clean and free of clutter.

  • Will be assigned other duties when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have 3+ years’ experience as CNC Plasma Table Operator

  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG, TIG, MMA etc.)

  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

  • Must have analytical skills and computer proficiency to interpret and adapt to new software cutting related programs.

  • Proven experience as welder

  • Layout and properly nest parts and details

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret shop detail drawings

  • Communicate in a clear, understandable manner.

  • Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Proficient in both English and Spanish

  • Experience with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and industry standard

  • Experience with discipline-specific industry standards (API, ASME, AWWA, NACE, ACI, etc.)

  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check
