Are You Working Hard At The Wrong Thing?

Powder-Coating.jpgI read this quote today, "So often people are working hard at the wrong thing. Working on the right thing is probably more important than working hard".

This was written by entrepreneur and co founder of Flickr, Caterina Fake.  As an entrepreneur, I think there are a couple of ways you can interpret that, but I wanted to share a few of my thoughts as it pertains to Dustless Blasting.

The first thought I instantly had was that so many people ARE working hard at the wrong thing. If the goal is to get a surface down to bare metal or to its original non-painted surface, old technology says chemical peelers, hand sanding and grinding are the way to go.  How many man hours does it take using any of those methods?  Far too many!  If you are spending so many of your man hours intensively scraping and sanding and grinding when it is only 1 step in the process, you are missing out on a more reliable, less expensive and more productive method  that Dustless Blasting provides.

The other consideration that I had from reading the quote was that working on the right thing IS probably more important than working hard.  No, I'm not saying don't work hard, but I am saying change what you are working hard doing.  Dustless Blasting saves time and has made surface preparation faster and more efficient so that you can place your focus on man hours that are better spent acquiring new jobs or completing multiple jobs in one day. That choice is up to you.

I am sure there are other ways to look at the quote, but I hope that you are inspired to see how working with the right tool and working hard for the right thing will help you realize your goals. Be sure to check out our website for more detailed information.
